STEP 1: How to Locate the Abductor Digiti Minimi (Arm) Trigger Point #One
The Abductor Digiti Minimi is a small muscle running from the bones of the wrist to the little finger and it helps fan the little finger away from the midline. Place a light hand on the outer edge of the affected hand and move the little finger away from the rest of the fingers; you will feel a muscle moving. This is the Abductor Digiti Minimi.
STEP 2: How to Self-Release the Abductor Digiti Minimi (Arm) Trigger Point # One
To self-release the Abductor Digiti Minimi, you need only your fingers. Locate the muscle as shown in the earlier video. Use the index or middle finger to find the trigger point and apply pressure. Hold for about 30 seconds and release.
STEP 3: How to Stretch the Abductor Digiti Minimi (Arm)Trigger Point # One
The Abductor Digiti Minimi is an abductor of the little finger. To stretch it, we will create an opposing stretch. First, hold onto the little finger of the hand you want to stretch using the opposite hand. The left index finger should be near the right little finger, and the left thumb near the right thumb. Squeeze your left hand such that the right little finger and thumb come close together. Hold for about 30 seconds and release. Remember to stretch the other side as well.
