STEP 1: How to Locate the Orbicularis Oculi Trigger Point #One
The Orbicularis Oculi is a muscle surrounding the eye that helps in tight closure of the eyelids. The trigger point is usually present just below the eyebrows, near the junction between the outer 1/3 and inner 2/3 of the eyebrow.
STEP 2: How to Self-Release the Orbicularis Oculi Trigger Point # One
To massage the Orbicularis Oculi, place your thumb over the trigger point just above your eye, as shown in the location video. This will be the most painful spot you’ll find in that area. Rest your other fingers over your forehead and using the pad of your thumb, apply gentle pressure to the trigger point. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds and release.
STEP 3: How to Stretch the Orbicularis OculiTrigger Point # One
We learned from the first video that the Orbicularis Oculi helps in the closure of the eye, so stretching it means doing the opposite. This requires keeping your eyes wide open, as wide as you can. Hold for about 15 seconds and release.
