STEP 1: How to Locate the Anterior Deltoid Trigger Point #One
The Anterior Deltoid is a muscle in the deltoid group. It is present over the shoulder. The Anterior Deltoid, as the name suggests, appears at the front, arising from the outer part of the collar bone and inserting into a ridge on the humerus—the bone present in the arm. To locate the Anterior Deltoid, place your arm on the front of your shoulder and move that arm up and away from your body while trying to flex your shoulder joint. You will feel a muscle moving under your hand; this is your Anterior Deltoid. It helps in the movement of the arm away from the body, and in conjunction with the Pectoralis Major, helps in flexing the shoulder joint.
STEP 2: How to Self-Release the Anterior Deltoid Trigger Point # One
To massage the Anterior Deltoid we will need a ball and a wall. We learned the location of this muscle in the previous video. Place the ball over that muscle and lean against the wall, keeping the ball in between. Hold for about 30 seconds and release.
STEP 3: How to Stretch the Anterior DeltoidTrigger Point # One
The Anterior Deltoid helps during the flexion of the shoulder joint. To stretch it, we’ll be doing the opposite. Stand near a wall, stretch your hand out behind you with the palm facing you. Rest the back of the hand against the wall and turn your neck and torso away from the wall. You should be feeling the stretch over the muscle. Hold for about 30 seconds and release.
